Video and Photo Editor (Full-Time) (Columbus OH)

Fetish Media is looking for an open-minded, kink-friendly, full-time Video and Photo Editor to join our team and help us deliver high quality fetish content.

Since we are more focused on finding the right long-term candidate rather than the wrong candidate with the perfect check boxes ticked off, our requirements are broken down into four sections:

  • MUST – If you don’t have these abilities, skills, knowledge, demeanor, etc., please don’t apply until you get them. The MUSTs are a two part section.
  • SHOULD – We prefer that you have these skills or knowledge, but we will keep a rather open mind if you don’t – especially if you are creative or artistic and not scared of personal computers.
  • BONUS POINTS – Can you start tomorrow? 😛

You MUST:

  • Be able to work with fetish videos and photos in a professional, non-judgmental manner. If you strongly believe that YKINMKBYKIOK (Your Kink Is Not My Kink But Your Kink Is Okay) as long as the participants are of age, all fully informed, and the activities are both legal and consensual, then you are probably a good fit!
  • Be able to maintain a professional, vanilla (please don’t vomit) appearance and demeanor at our corporate offices. There are plenty of chances to dress wild and crazy at our production studio or fetish events, if that is your thing.
  • Be able to work well with women. No, this isn’t a trick requirement. Most of our brand owners (producer and model all in one) are female. Some people have issues with working with so many women or taking direction from a woman. If genders in the work place don’t matter to you, awesome.
  • Have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Tricycles do not count as reliable transportation!
  • Live or be willing to relocate to within an hour’s drive of our corporate headquarters. This isn’t LA, so a one hour drive casts a fairly wide geographic net.
  • Be legally able to work in the USA.

 

You MUST have a good amount of knowledge and experience with:

  • Microsoft Windows based computers. We see all of you Apple faithful rolling your eyes. Outside of a video and photo editor’s duties, we run a lot of applications that aren’t available for Macs and don’t run well in a virtual machine within OS X. Plus, we build our own high-end video editing machines that scream speed, so we utilize Windows for our desktops.
  • A keyboard. No, really. If you are a two finger typist or backspace is your favorite key, please spend some time with UltraKey, Ultimate Typing, Typing Instructor Platinum, etc. before you contact us as we would hate for an ideal candidate to be turned away because they can’t type with decent speed or high accuracy.
  • Microsoft Word, Google Docs, or similar word processing software. Can you properly format an SOP (standard operating procedure) so that it is easy to follow by others? Are your emails structured so that the important information stands out? This all starts with understanding how to use the underlying word processor functionality.
  • Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or similar spreadsheet application software. Here’s a bunch of video production data. Can you perform basic data manipulation as requested or directed?

You SHOULD have a good amount of knowledge and experience with:

  • Editing raw, single camera videos into a finished product that someone other than your Mother would watch and tell you that it was interesting or good. Maybe you are a wizard at taking your father’s thousands of hours of family videos and turning them into something worth watching. Maybe you are an exhibitionistic legend and you can make any of your videos look sexy by your video editing wizardry. Whatever the case, if you are able to add value to the raw footage during the editing process, then you make yourself more valuable to the production team.
  • Experience with industry common video editing software. Although we are an Adobe shop, we don’t care what you have been using previously as long as you can display a healthy level of knowledge and expertise.
  • Creating content-reflective animated GIFs. This isn’t a call to only you Tumblr masters of the universe! We use animated GIFs of different resolutions and numbers of frames for all sorts of reasons. Can you convey the concept of a whole video in a series of frames in less than 2 seconds?

 

BONUS POINTS for having a good amount of knowledge and experience with:

  • Adobe Premier Pro CS6. No, we aren’t switching to Sony Vegas Pro or Final Cut Pro, but thanks for the suggestion.
  • Adobe Photoshop CS6. If you are a Photoshop expert, humorous examples of your work are most welcome!
  • Red Giant Magic Bullet Suite. Extra bonus points for experience with the Trapcode Suite or Shooter Suite. If you have experience with all three suites, we might even give you a gold star (but it won’t be made of real gold).
  • Editing multi camera videos. Yes, multi camera shoots can be a real pain for everyone involved, but there are plenty of times that one camera just won’t do for a quality fetish video.
  • Working with Asana for teamwork management. We do our best to use the proper tools for the job at hand and Asana is excellent for teamwork management – and keeps our email inboxes from overflowing internally.
  • Artistic endeavors especially drawing or painting by hand or computer. For various reasons, those with an artistic bent tend (not always) to make good video and photo editors. If you aren’t artistic but you are a decent (or better) video and photo editor, don’t let this scare you off. The artistic element of being a good video and photo editor is reasonably teachable if you are, at least, creative.

At Fetish Media, you will be responsible for:

  • Editing individual producer’s raw footage into polished, video gems. Don’t worry; you won’t have to be a mind-reader. Between base training, training with the producers, and our SOPs, you will think you are a mind reader in no time.
  • Providing daily and weekly reporting metrics to management. We like to keep a finger on the pulse of video production. You will be critical in that regard.
  • Forever working with cross functional teams to constantly publish new media – photos and videos – in a high output environment where we don’t allow quality to suffer.
  • Actively participating in the feedback loop to producers to increase the quality of the end content.

  • We’ll mostly let you work banker’s hours! 8:00/8:30am to 5:00pm ET, Monday through Friday. And if that doesn’t work well for the ideal candidate, we are open to alternative work schedules. Did you catch that “mostly”? If you didn’t, we are pointing it out. Occasionally, there are times that you’ll be needed more than your regularly scheduled 40 hour work week. We do our best to keep those extra hours reasonable.
  • We may offer relocation assistance. What the company is willing to cover in relocation assistance for those outside of our geographic area depends on the cost of relocation and, most importantly, how ideally suited you are as a candidate.
